Two squads sitting outside the playoff places of the East are clashing today, when the Washington Wizards (22-30), who have won only once in their last 4 games, are hosting the Atlanta Hawks (17-35), who are looking to turn their latest victory into a streak.

Date/Time: 02-04-2019, 19:00 EDT

Spread: Washington Wizards -6

Total: +233

Washington Wizards have a 22-30 record (23-29 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the 10th place of the East. They have lost three of their last four matches and in their last game they lost at home against the Bucks with a 115-131 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Bradley Beal with 24.7 ppg, adding 5 boards and 5.1 dimes per game. He is followed by John Wall with 20.7 ppg and a team high 8.7 dimes per game but he will miss the rest of the season with an injury.

Atlanta Hawks have a 17-35 record (23-29 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the 12th place of the East. In their last game they snapped a two-game losing streak by winning on the road against the Suns with a 118-112 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by John Collins with 19.7 ppg, adding a team high 9.9 boards per game. He is followed by Trae Young with 16.9 ppg and a team high 7.4 dimes per game.

In their three previous meetings earlier this season the Wizards lead the Hawks 2-1 wins, having won the previous home game by 16 points. Wizards have a 15-10 home record, while the Hawks are 9-22 on the road. Wizards are better both offensively, scoring 112.8 ppg to Hawks’ 110.4 and defensively, allowing 115.6 ppg to Hawks’ 118 ppg. They also have better percentages both in field goals (46.5% to 45.2%) and in 3-pointers (34.4% to 33.8%). Hawks are better both in boards grabbed (45.4 to 40.8), while Wizards are better in turnovers committed (13.5 to 18.1) and in dimes made (25.8 to 25.5). Wizards are the favorite at home and Vegas odds give them a -6 spread and expect them to beat the odds in this one.
