Two teams fighting for the 8th and final playoff place of the West are clashing tonight, when the Sacramento Kings (31-30), looking to end their current small losing streak, are hosting the Los Angeles Clippers (34-29), who are also coming off a defeat in their latest matchup and want to bounce back in this game.
Date/Time: 03-01-2019, 22:00 EDT
Spread: Sacramento Kings -3.5
Sacramento Kings have a 31-30 record (37-24 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the 9th place of the West. They have lost four of their last five matches and in their last game they lost at home against the Bucks with a 140-141 score in overtime, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Buddy Hield with 20.8 ppg, adding 5.2 boards per game. He is followed by De’Aaron Fox with 17.3 ppg, 3.7 boards and a team high 7.2 dimes per game, while Bogdan Bogdanovic adds 14.9 ppg, 3.7 boards and 4.1 dimes per game.
Los Angeles Clippers have a 34-29 record (35-28 against the spread) so far this season and are currently tied with the Spurs in the 7th place of the West. They have lost two of their last three matches and in their last game they lost on the road against the Jazz with a 105-111 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Lou Williams with 19.9 ppg and a team high 5.4 dimes per game off the bench. He is followed by Danilo Gallinari with 18.8 ppg and 5.9 boards per game.
Clippers have won all three previous meetings against the Kings this season, winning the only road game with a 121-133 score. Kings have a 19-12 home record, while the Clippers are 17-17 on the road. Both teams are almost equal offensively, scoring 114 and 113.9 ppg,
while Clippers are better defensively, allowing 113.7 ppg to Kings’ 115.2. Clippers have better percentages both in field goals (46.8% to 46.3%) and in 3-pointers (37.9% to 37.6%). Kings are better in boards grabbed (45.4 to 45), in dimes made (25.6 to 23.3) and in turnovers committed (13.5 to 14). Both teams are struggling lately so expect the home court advantage to be a major factor. Vegas odds give the Kings a -3.5 spread and expect them to beat the odds for the win tonight.
Los Angeles Clippers vs Sacramento Kings Prediction: Sacramento Kings -3.5 (-110)
