In this first round opener of the Western Conference, the top-seeded and defending champions Golden State Warriors (57-25), looking to bounce back after their latest defeat, are hosting the eighth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers (48-34), who on the other hand want to turn their latest victory into a streak today.

Date/Time: 04-13-2019, 20:00 EDT

Spread: Golden State Warriors -13

Total: +233.5

Golden State Warriors finished the regular season with a 57-25 record (35-46-1 against the spread) and were placed first in the West. In their last game they saw a six-game winning streak getting snapped by losing on the road against the Grizzlies with a 117-132 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Stephen Curry with 27.3 ppg, adding 5.3 boards and 5.2 dimes per game. He is followed by Kevin Durant with 26 ppg, 5.9 dimes and 6.4 boards per game.

Los Angeles Clippers finished the regular season with a 48-34 record (45-36-1 against the spread) and were placed 8th in the West. In their last game they snapped a three-game losing streak by winning at home against the Jazz with a 143-137 score in overtime, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Lou Williams with 20 ppg and a team high 5.4 dimes per game off the bench. He is followed by Danilo Gallinari with 19.8 ppg and 6.1 boards per game.

In their four previous meetings in the regular season the Warriors led the Clippers 3-1 wins, winning both home games by an average of 14.5 points. Warriors have a 30-11 home record, while the Clippers are 22-19 on the road. Warriors are better both offensively, scoring 117.7 ppg to Clippers’ 115.1 ppg and defensively, allowing 111.2 ppg to Clippers’ 114.3. Warriors have a better field goal percentage (49.1% to 47.1%), while both teams have almost identical 3-point percentage (38.8% to 38.5%). Warriors are better in dimes made (29.4 to 24) and in boards grabbed (46.2 to 45.5), while both teams commit exactly 13.8 turnovers per game. Warriors are the absolute favorite and Vegas odds give them a -13 spread and expect them to beat the odds against an inferior Clippers team.
