Game Preview

The Mavericks enter the game having won three of their last four, including a 1-point home win over
the Portland Trail Blazers last night. For the season, Dallas is 26-29 (34-20-1) and in 11th place in
the west. The team is currently four games behind in the race for the 8th seed in the conference.
The Rockets have also won three of their last four. They were last in action on Saturday, dropping a
5-point home decision to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The team is 32-23 (25-29-1 ATS) for the year
and in 5th place in the west, eight games behind the conference leading Golden State Warriors.

Dallas Mavericks

Dallas has had its challenges this season with a number of lengthy losing streaks. The team is playing
better of late, going 6-4 (8-1-1 ATS) over the last 10. The Mavericks have been abysmal on the road
this year at 6-21 (15-12 ATS).

Team totals stand at 24-31 thus far, with the Under coming in for five of the last six. Luka Doncic
leads the way on offense with 20.8 ppg and 5.5 dimes. The Mavericks underwent a makeover at the
trade deadline. Among the prizes was Kristaps Porzingis, who is out for the year as he mends a torn

Houston Rockets

Houston ripped off a six-game winning streak from late December into early January, but they have
cooled off slightly since then. Over the last 10, the Rockets are 6-4 (3-7 ATS). The club has defended
its home court well with a record of 19-9 (15-12-1 ATS) thus far.

James Harden leads the way in scoring with 36.6 ppg. He’s averaging 40.5 ppg over his last 10.
Harden is listed as probable for tonight with a shoulder injury. Chris Paul is chipping in with 15.6
ppg and 7.9 apg. Team totals stand at 31-24, but the Under has been the correct call for the last two.

Mavericks vs. Rockets Prediction

This is the third meeting of the season for these two clubs. The Mavericks have won the first two – by
20 points on the road in November and by three points at home the following month. The Rockets
were favored in both contests. Over the last 10 meetings, Houston is 8-2.

While the Mavericks have been playing better of late, this is a team that’s in transition which
struggles on the road. The Rockets are contenders in the west and solid at home, and we like them to
pick up the win and cover.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Houston Rockets Pick: Houston Rockets -9.5 (-110)
