The struggles of the Los Angeles Lakers continue. The team has dropped three in a row and five of
its last six games. Things aren’t about to get any easier tonight as they welcome the Denver Nuggets
to town, the current #2 seed in the Western Conference.

Date/Time/TV: Weds. Mar.6, 10:30PM EST, ESPN

Spread: Denver Nuggets -5.5 (-110)

Game Preview

The Nuggets enter tonight’s game with a record of 42-21 (34-29 ATS). The team is in 2nd place in
the west, 1.5 games behind the 1st place Golden State Warriors. Denver has hit a rough patch of its
own while dropping three straight games.

The Lakers are beginning to resemble a longshot to make the playoffs. At 30-34 (26-37-1 ATS) on
the year, the team is in 11th place in the west and currently 5.5 games behind the 8th place San
Antonio Spurs.

Denver Nuggets

Denver has been pretty streaky of late. The team has recent six- and five-game winning streaks, both
of which were ended by three-game skids. Over the last 10, the Nuggets are 5-5 (5-5 ATS). The team
is an even 15-15 (12-18 ATS) in road games for the year.

Team totals have been Under for six in a row and lean that way on the season at 28-34-1. Nikola
Jokic is the biggest force for Denver. He’s averaging 20.6 ppg, 10.7 rpg, and 7.6 apg. Jamal Murray
chips in with 18.3 ppg, while Gary Harris adds in 13.8 ppg.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers weren’t playing all that great heading into the All-Star break, but the team has really
struggled on the other side of it. For their last 10 games, the Lakers are just 3-7 (3-7 ATS). The team
is slightly above average at home at 18-14 (12-18 ATS), but they’ve dropped their last two on the
home court.

Totals have hit the Under for three of the last five and skew in that direction to date at 25-38-1.
LeBron James leads the charge for the Lakers. He’s averaging 27.0 ppg, 8.7 boards, and 8.0 dimes.
The team is dealing with a rash of injuries. Kyle Kuzma and Brandon Ingram are among four Lakers
with questionable tags tonight.

Nuggets vs. Lakers Prediction

These two clubs have met twice this season with each side picking up a win so far. The Nuggets hold
a 6-4 advantage for the last 10 meetings with the Lakers. Totals are 6-3-1 over that span.
Interestingly, the home team has won the last eight times these two squads have faced off.
The Lakers desperately need to stop the bleeding here, while the Nuggets are looking to snap a skid
of their own. The hosts are banged up and struggling mightily, so it’s tough to bank on the upset.
However, we’ll look for them to keep it close enough to cover versus a squad that’s only average on
the road.

Denver Nuggets vs. Los Angeles Lakers Pick: Los Angeles Lakers +5.5 (-110)
