NBA Golden State Warriors vs Indiana Pacers Spread and Prediction

In this high caliber duel between two squads sitting on the top-3 places of their respective conference, the third in the East Indiana Pacers (32-16), looking to bounce back after their latest defeat, are hosting the first in the West and defending champions Golden State Warriors (35-14), who on the other hand want to extend their current lengthy winning streak.

Date/Time: 01-28-2019, 19:00 EDT

Spread: Indiana Pacers +9

Total: +226.5

Indiana Pacers have a 32-16 record (25-23 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the third place of the East. In their last game they saw a three-game winning streak getting snapped by losing on the road against the Grizzlies with a 103-106 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Victor Oladipo with 18.8 ppg, adding 5.6 boards and 5.2 dimes per game but he will miss the rest of the season with an injury. He is followed by Bojan Bogdanovic with 16.1 ppg and 4.1 boards per game.

Golden State Warriors have a 35-14 record (22-26-1 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the first place of the West. They have won 12 of their last 13 matches and in their last game they won on the road against the Celtics with a 115-111 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Stephen Curry with 29.3 ppg, adding 5.3 boards and 5.4 dimes per game. He is followed by Kevin Durant with 27.9 ppg, 5.9 dimes and a team high 7.3 boards per game.

Pacers won both meetings against the Warriors last season (at home by 20 points and on the road by 11). Pacers have a 18-6 home record, while the Warriors are 17-8 on the road. Warriors are better offensively, scoring 118.8 ppg to Pacers’ 108.9, while Pacers are better defensively, allowing 103.2 ppg to Warriors’ 112 ppg. Warriors have better percentages both in field goals (49% to 47.9%) and in 3-pointers (38.9% to 37.3%). They are better in dimes made (29.1 to 25.8) and in boards grabbed (46.7 to 43.8), while both teams are almost equal in turnovers committed (13.7 to 13.8). Pacers are missing Oladipo for the rest of the season and Vegas odds give the Warriors a -9 spread. Expect the defending champions to beat the odds for the road win.
