Two teams sitting on opposite sides of the Western Conference table are clashing today, when the third Oklahoma City Thunder (38-24), who are struggling lately having won only once in their last 6 games, are hosting the second-worse Memphis Grizzlies (25-39), who on the other hand want to turn their latest victory into a streak.
Date/Time: 03-03-2019, 19:00 EDT
Spread: Oklahoma City Thunder -10
Oklahoma City Thunder have a 38-24 record (33-29 against the spread) so far this season and are currently tied with the Blazers in the third place of the West. They have lost five of their last six matches and in their last game they lost on the road against the Spurs with a 102-116 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Paul George with 28.6 ppg, adding 8.1 boards and 4.3 dimes per game but he is out with an injury. He is followed by Russell Westbrook with 22.4 ppg, adding team highs both in boards grabbed with 11.3 and in dimes made with 10.9 per game.
Memphis Grizzlies have a 25-39 record (28-36 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the second to last place of the West. They have won two of their last three matches and in their last game they won on the road against the Mavericks with a 111-81 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Mike Conley with 20 ppg, adding a team high 6.3 dimes per game. He is followed by Jonas Valanciunas with 18.8 ppg and a team high 9.7 boards per game.
In their previous meeting earlier this season the Thunder won at home with a 117-95 score. Thunder have a 21-9 home record, while the Grizzlies are 10-22 on the road. Thunder are better offensively, scoring 115.5 ppg to Grizzlies’ 101.2, while Grizzlies are better defensively, allowing 103.8 ppg to Thunder’s 111.1 ppg. Thunder have better percentages both in field goals (46% to 44.9%) and in 3-pointers (34.8% to 33.5%). Both teams are equal in dimes made (23.5), while Grizzlies are better in turnovers committed (13.3 to 13.8) and Thunder are better in boards grabbed (47.9 to 41). Thunder are the absolute favorite at home and Vegas odds give them a -10 spread but don’t expect them to beat the odds as they have been struggling without Paul George lately.
Memphis Grizzlies vs Oklahoma City Thunder Prediction: Memphis Grizzlies +10 (-110)
