In this battle between two teams fighting for the final playoff places of the East, the Orlando Magic (26-32), who have lost only once in their last 7 games and are trending up, are hosting the Charlotte Hornets (27-29), who on the other hand are looking to bounce back after their latest defeat.

Date/Time: 02-14-2019, 19:00 EDT

Spread: Orlando Magic -3.5

Total: +215

Orlando Magic have a 26-32 record (31-26-1 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the 10th place of the East. They have won six of their last seven matches and in their last game they won on the road against the Pelicans with a 118-88 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Nikola Vucevic with 20.6 ppg, adding 3.8 dimes and a team high 12.1 boards per game. He is followed by Aaron Gordon with 15.9 ppg, 3.5 dimes and 7.2 boards per game.

Charlotte Hornets have a 27-29 record (28-28 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the 7th place of the East. They have lost three of their last four matches and in their last game they lost on the road against the Pacers with a 90-99 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Kemba Walker with 25.2 ppg, adding 4.4 boards and a team high 5.7 dimes per game. He is followed by Jeremy Lamb with 15.2 ppg and 5.6 boards per game.

Hornets won both meetings against the Magic earlier this season (at home by 25 points and on the road by 32). Magic have a 13-15 home record, while the Hornets are 8-20 on the road. Hornets are better offensively, scoring 111.5 ppg to Magic’s 105.4, while Magic are better defensively, allowing 107.2 ppg to Hornets’ 111. Both teams have similar percentages both in field goals (45.1% to 44.9%) and in 3-pointers (35.4% to 35%). Hornets are better in turnovers committed (12 to 13), while Magic are better in dimes made (24.68 to 23.3) and both teams are almost equal in boards grabbed (44.4 to 44.3). Magic have been playing much better lately and Vegas odds give them a -3.5 spread and expect them to beat the odds for the home win.
