Two teams sitting in and out of the playoff places of the West are clashing tonight, when the third Oklahoma City Thunder (38-20), who have lost only once in their last 6 games, are hosting the ninth Sacramento Kings (30-28), who on the other hand are looking to end their current small losing streak.
Date/Time: 02-23-2019, 20:00 EDT
Spread: Oklahoma City Thunder -5.5
Oklahoma City Thunder have a 38-20 record (33-25 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the third place of the West. They have won five of their last six matches and in their last game they won at home against the Jazz with a 148-147 score in double overtime, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Paul George with 28.9 ppg, adding 8 boards and 4.2 dimes per game. He is followed by Russell Westbrook with 22.1 ppg, adding team highs both in boards grabbed with 11.3 and in dimes made with 11.1 per game.
Sacramento Kings have a 30-28 record (35-23 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the 9th place of the West. They have back-to-back losses and in their last game they lost on the road against the Warriors with a 123-125 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Buddy Hield with 20.5 ppg, adding 5.2 boards per game. He is followed by De’Aaron Fox with 17.2 ppg, 3.7 boards and a team high 7.2 dimes per game, while Bogdan Bogdanovic adds 14.8 ppg, 3.6 boards and 4 dimes per game.
In their three previous meetings earlier this season the Kings lead the Thunder 2-1 wins, having won the only road game by 11 points. Thunder have a 21-7 home record, while the Kings are 11-17 on the road. Thunder are better both offensively, scoring 116 ppg to Kings’ 113.6 and defensively, allowing 110.8 ppg to Kings’ 114.8. Kings have better percentages both in field goals (46.5% to 46.2%) and in 3-pointers (37.7% to 35.3%). They are also better both in dimes made (25.6 to 23.5) and in turnovers committed (13.6 to 13.8), while Thunder are better in boards grabbed (47.9 to 45.2). Thunder are the absolute favorite and Vegas odds give them a -5.5 spread and expect them to beat the odds for the home win today.
Sacramento Kings vs Oklahoma City Thunder Prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder -5.5 (-110)
