Two squads sitting in and out of the playoff places of the Western Conference are clashing tonight, when the defending champions and first Golden State Warriors (41-16), are hosting the ninth Sacramento Kings (30-27), with both teams coming off single victories that ended their previous winning streaks and are looking to bounce back.
Date/Time: 02-21-2019, 22:30 EDT
Spread: Golden State Warriors -11.5
Golden State Warriors have a 41-16 record (24-32-1 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the first place of the West. In their last game they saw a five-game winning streak getting snapped by losing on the road against the Blazers with a 107-129 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Stephen Curry with 28.6 ppg, adding 5.1 boards and 5.2 dimes per game. He is followed by Kevin Durant with 27.6 ppg, 5.9 dimes and 7 boards per game.
Sacramento Kings have a 30-27 record (34-23 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the 9th place of the West. In their last game they saw a two-game winning streak getting snapped by losing on the road against the Nuggets with a 118-120 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Buddy Hield with 20.5 ppg, adding 5.1 boards per game. He is followed by De’Aaron Fox with 17.2 ppg, 3.7 boards and a team high 7.2 dimes per game, while Bogdan Bogdanovic adds 14.8 ppg, 3.6 boards and 4 dimes per game.
Warriors have won all three previous meetings against the Kings so far this season, winning the only home game by one point. Warriors have a 22-7 home record, while the Kings are 11-16 on the road. Warriors are better both offensively, scoring 118.8 ppg to Kings’ 113.4 ppg and defensively, allowing 111.7 ppg to Kings’ 114.6. They also have better percentages both in field goals (49.1% to 46.6%) and in 3-pointers (38.4% to 37.8%). Warriors are also better in dimes made (29.5 to 25.6) and in boards grabbed (46.4 to 45), while both teams are almost equal in turnovers committed (13.5 to 13.6). Warriors are the absolute favorite and Vegas odds give them a -11.5 spread and expect them to beat the odds for an easy home victory.
Sacramento Kings vs Golden State Warriors Prediction: Golden State Warriors -11.5 (-109)
