Two teams coming off multiple wins are clashing in game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals, when the second-seeded Toronto Raptors (58-24), are hosting the seventh-seeded Orlando Magic (42-40), with both teams having won their last two and four games respectively and looking to extend those winning streaks today.

Date/Time: 04-13-2019, 17:00 EDT

Spread: Toronto Raptors -9

Total: +216.5

Toronto Raptors finished the regular season with a 58-24 record (38-44 against the spread) and were placed second in the East. They have won seven of their last eight matches and in their last game they won on the road against the Timberwolves with a 120-100 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Kawhi Leonard with 26.6 ppg, adding 7.3 boards per game. He is followed by Pascal Siakam with 16.9 ppg and 6.9 boards per game.

Orlando Magic finished the regular season with a 42-40 record (45-36-1 against the spread) and were placed seventh in the East. They have won five of their last six matches and in their last game they won on the road against the Hornets with a 122-114 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Nikola Vucevic with 20.8 ppg, adding 3.8 dimes and a team high 12 boards per game. He is followed by Aaron Gordon with 16 ppg, 3.7 dimes and 7.4 boards per game.

In their four previous meetings in the regular season both teams were tied 2-2 wins and were 1-1 in Toronto (Raptors won by 12 points and Magic by 15). Raptors have a 32-9 home record, while the Magic are 17-24 on the road. Raptors are better offensively, scoring 114.4 ppg to Magic’s 107.3, while Magic are better defensively, allowing 106.6 ppg to Raptors’ 108.4. Raptors have better percentages both in field goals (47.4% to 45.4%) and in 3-pointers (36.6% to 35.6%). Both teams are almost equal in boards grabbed (45.4 to 45.2) and in dimes made (25.5 to 25.4), while Magic are better in turnovers committed (12.6 to 13.3). Raptors are the absolute favorite for the win but Vegas odds give them a -9 spread and don’t expect them to beat the odds as the Magic will surely force a closer game today.
