Two teams sitting within the playoff places of the West but currently on opposite trajectories are clashing, when the fourth Houston Rockets (37-20), looking to extend their active wonning streak, are hosting the eighth Memphis Grizzlies (28-29), who on the other hand want to end their losing streak in the final stop of their road trip.

Spread: Houston Rockets -10.5
Houston Rockets have a 37-20 record (28-29 against the spread) and are sitting in the 4th place of the West. They have four consecutive wins and in their last game they won at home against the Knicks with a 122-112 score, beating the odds. James Harden leads the team both in scoring with 35.3 ppg and in assists made with 7.4, adding 6.4 rebounds per game. Russell Westbrook follows with 27.2 ppg, 7.2 assists and a team high 7.9 rebounds per game.
Memphis Grizzlies have a 28-29 record (30-26-1 against the spread) and are sitting in the 8th place of the West. They have three consecutive losses and in their last game they lost on the road against the Clippers with a 97-124 score, not beating the odds. Ja Morant leads the team both in scoring with 17.6 ppg and in assists made with 6.8 per game. Jaren Jackson Jr. follows with 16.9 ppg and 4.7 rebounds per game but he is out with an injury.
Both teams are tied 1-1 wins so far this season. Rockets won on the road with a 100-107 score, while Grizzlies won at home 121-100. Rockets are 20-8 at home, while the Grizzlies are 12-16 on the road. Rockets are better both offensively, scoring 118.6 ppg to Grizzlies’ 112.8 and defensively, allowing 114.2 ppg to Grizzlies’ 114.9. Grizzlies on the other hand have a better field goal percentage (47.2% to 45.4%), while both teams have almost identical 3-point percentage (35.1% to 35%). Grizzlies are better both in rebounding (46 to 45.2) and in assists made (27.1 to 21.5), while Rockets are better in turnovers committed (14.3 to 15.2). Bookmakers give the Rockets a -10.5 spread and expect them to beat the odds against a team that is on a free fall after losing Jaren Jackson Jr to injury.
