Miami Heat have a 40-23 record (32-29-2 against the spread) and are sitting on the 4th place of the East. In their last game they saw a four-game winning streak getting snapped by losing on the road against the Pelicans with a 104-110 score, not beating the odds. Jimmy Butler leads the team both in scoring with 20.5 ppg and in assists made with 6.2, adding 6.8 rebounds per game. Goran Dragic follows with 16.4 ppg and 5.1 assists per game.
In their three previous meeting earlier this season the Heat lead the Wizards 2-1 with each team having won at home. Wizards are 15-15 home, while the Heat are 13-19 on the road. Wizards are better both offensively, scoring 115.9 ppg to Heat’s 112.6, while Heat are better defensively, allowing 109.2 ppg to Wizards’ 120. Heat have better percentages both in field goals (46.9% to 46.2%) and in 3-pointers (34.8% to 32.8%). Wizards on the other hand are better in turnovers committed (14 to 15.8), while Heat are better both in rebounding (44.7 to 42) and in assists made (26 to 25.5). Bookmakers give the Heat a -5 spread and expect them to beat the odds for the road victory against an inferior Wizards team.
