They have lost four of their last five matches and in their last game they lost on the road against the Grizzlies with a 105-110 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by LeBron James with 26.8 ppg, adding 7.8 dimes and a team high 8.8 boards per game. He is followed by Kyle Kuzma with 19.1 ppg and 5.6 boards per game.
New Orleans Pelicans have a 27-35 record (30-31-1 against the spread) so far this season and are currently tied with the Mavericks in the third to last place of the West. They have lost two of their last three matches and in their last game they lost at home against the Sixers with a 110-111 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Anthony Davis with 27.6 ppg, adding 4.1 dimes and a team high 12.6 boards per game. He is followed by Jrue Holiday with 21 ppg, 5.1 boards and a team high 7.9 dimes per game.
In their two previous meetings earlier this season each team won once at home. Pelicans with a 128-115 score and Lakers 112-104. Lakers have a 17-12 home record, while the Pelicans are 9-23 on the road. Pelicans are better offensively, scoring 115.6 ppg to Lakers’ 112.2, while Lakers are better defensively, allowing 113.5 ppg to Pelicans’ 115. Both teams have almost identical field goal percentage (47.7% to 47.4%), while Pelicans have a better 3-point percentage (34.5% to 33.9%). Both teams are almost equal in boards grabbed (47.1 to 46.9), while Pelicans are better both in dimes made (26.9 to 25) and in turnovers committed (14 to 15.6). Lakers are the favorite at home and Vegas odds give them a -5 spread and expect them to beat the odds for the home win.
