In this Eastern first round opener between two squads coming off opposite outcomes in their latest matchups, the top-seeded in the whole league Milwaukee Bucks (60-22), looking to bounce back after their latest defeat, are hosting the eighth-seeded Detroit Pistons (41-41), who on the other hand want to extend their current small winning streak.

Date/Time: 04-14-2019, 19:00 EDT

Spread: Milwaukee Bucks -11.5

Total: +217

Milwaukee Bucks finished the regular season with a 60-22 record (47-30-4 against the spread) and were placed first in the whole NBA. They have lost two of their last three matches and in their last game they lost at home against the Thunder with a 116-127 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Giannis Antetokounmpo with 27.7 ppg, adding team highs both in dimes made with 5.9 and in boards grabbed with 12.5 per game. He is followed by Kris Middleton with 18.3 ppg, 6 boards and 4.3 dimes per game.

Detroit Pistons finished the regular season with a 41-41 record (41-38-3 against the spread) and were placed 8th in the East. They have back-to-back wins and in their last game they won on the road against the Knicks with a 115-89 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Blake Griffin with 24.5 ppg, adding 7.5 boards and a team high 5.4 dimes per game. He is followed by Andre Drummond with 17.3 ppg and a team high 15.6 boards per game.

In their four previous meetings in the regular season the Bucks led the Pistons 4-0 wins, having won both home games by an average of 23 points. Bucks have a 33-8 home record, while the Pistons are 15-26 on the road. Bucks are better offensively, scoring 118.1 ppg to Pistons’ 107, while Pistons are better defensively, allowing 107.3 ppg to Bucks’ 109.3. They also have better percentages both in field goals (47.6% to 44%) and in 3-pointers (35.3% to 34.8%). Bucks are better in boards grabbed (49.7 to 45) and in dimes made (26 to 22.5), while both teams are almost equal in turnovers committed (13 to 13.3). Bucks are the absolute favorite and Vegas odds give them a -11.5 spread nad expect them to beat the odds for an easy home victory.
