Two squads sitting outside the top-8 of their respective conference are clashing today, when the Cleveland Cavaliers (18-45), looking to turn their latest victory into a streak, are hosting the San Antonio Spurs (26-35), who on the other hand want to bounce back after their latest defeat.
Date/Time: 03-08-2020, 19:30 EDT
Spread: Cleveland Cavaliers +4.5
Cleveland Cavaliers have a 18-45 record (28-33-2 against the spread) and are sitting in the last place of the East. In their last game they snapped a four-game losing streak by winning at home against the Nuggets with a 104-102 score, beating the odds. Collin Sexton leads the team in scoring with 20.6 ppg, while Kevin Love follows with 17.7 ppg and 9.6 rebounds per game.

San Antonio Spurs have a 26-35 record (24-36-1 against the spread) and are sitting on the 12th place of the West. They have lost two of their last three matches and in their last game they lost on the road against the Nets with a 120-139 score, not beating the odds. DeMar DeRozan leads the team both in scoring with 22.3 ppg and in assists made with 5.5, adding 5.6 rebounds per game. LaMarcus Aldridge follows with 18.8 ppg and a team high 7.5 rebounds per game but he is out with an injury.
In their previous meeting earlier this season the Cavaliers won on the road with a 109-117 score in overtime. Cavaliers are 10-25 home, while the Spurs are 11-21 on the road. Spurs are better offensively, scoring 112.8 ppg to Cavs’ 106.6, while both teams are identcail defensively, allowing 114.7 ppg each. Spurs have better percentages both in field goals (47% to 45.8%) and in 3-pointers (36.9% to 35.2%). They are also better in rebounding (44.5 to 44.1), in turnovers committed (12.3 to 16.4) and in assists made (24.5 to 22.9). Bookmakers give the Spurs a -4.5 spread but don’t expect them to beat the odds and pick the hosts in this one.
