Two teams sitting in and out of the playoff places of their respective conference but both struggling lately are clashing, when the team with the worse record in the league, the New York Knicks (11-48), are hosting the San Antonio Spurs (33-27), with both teams coming off single defeats and are looking to bounce back.

Date/Time: 02-24-2019, 19:30 EDT

Spread: New York Knicks +9

Total: +223

New York Knicks have a 11-48 record (24-34-1 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the last place of the whole league. They have lost 19 of their last 20 matches and in their last game they lost at home against the Timberwolves with a 104-115 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Dennis Smith Jr with 15.8 ppg, adding and a team high 6.1 dimes per game. He is followed by Emmanuel Mudiay with 14.7 ppg and 3.8 dimes.

San Antonio Spurs have a 33-27 record (32-27-1 against the spread) so far this season and are currently tied with the Clippers in the 7th place of the West. They have lost five of their last six matches and in their last game they lost on the road against the Raptors with a 117-120 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by DeMar DeRozan with 21.4 ppg, adding 6.1 boards and a team high 6.2 dimes per game. He is followed by LaMarcus Aldridge with 20.7 ppg and a team high 9 boards per game.

Spurs won both meetings against the Knicks last season (at home by 12 points and on the road by 9). Knicks have a 4-24 home record, while the Spurs are 11-20 on the road. Spurs are better both offensively, scoring 112.4 ppg to Knicks’ 105.3 and defensively, allowing 111.5 ppg to Knicks’ 114. They also have better percentages both in field goals (47.9% to 43%) and in 3-pointers (40.7% to 33.7%). Knicks on the other hand are better in boards grabbed (44.4 to 44.1), while Spurs are better both in turnovers committed (12.2 to 13.2) and in dimes made (24.8 to 19.8). Both teams are struggling and Vegas odds give the Spurs a -9 spread but don’t expect them to beat the odds as the hosts will definitely force a closer game than that today.
