In the only Western Conference quarterfinal where the guest team emerged victorious, we have game 2 of the second-seeded Denver Nuggets (54-28), looking to bounce back after being defeated in game one and the seventh-seeded San Antonio Spurs (48-34), who made the break in Denver and are leading the series 1-0 wins.

Date/Time: 04-16-2019, 21:00 EDT

Spread: Denver Nuggets -7

Total: +208.5

Denver Nuggets finished the regular season with a 54-28 record (42-40 against the spread) and were placed 2nd in the West. They have lost three of their last four matches and in their last game they lost at home against the Spurs in game 1 with a 96-101 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Gary Harris with 20 ppg, followed by Jamal Murray with 17 ppg and a team high 6 steals per game. Will Barton adds 15 ppg and a team high 10 boards per game.

San Antonio Spurs finished the regular season with a 48-34 record (43-37-2 against the spread) and were placed seventh in the West. They have won five of their last six matches and in their last game they won on the road against the Nuggets in game 1 with a 101-96 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by DeMar DeRozan with 18 ppg, adding team highs both in boards grabbed with 12 and in dimes made with 6 per game. He is followed by Derrick White with 16 ppg and 5 dimes per game.

In their five previous meetings the Spurs lead the Nuggets 2-1 wins but are 1-2 in Denver. Nuggets have a 34-8 home record, while the Spurs are 17-25 on the road. Spurs are better offensively, scoring 111.5 ppg to Nuggets’ 110.5 ppg, while Nuggets are better defensively, allowing 106.7 ppg to Spurs’ 109.8. Spurs have better percentages both in field goals (47.9% to 46.5%) and in 3-pointers (39.3% to 35%). Nuggets on the other hand are better in boards grabbed (46.4 to 44.7) and in dimes made (27.3 to 24.5), while Spurs are better in turnovers committed (11.8 to 12.8). Spurs are a tough matchup for the Nuggets and while Vegas odds give the hosts a -7 spread, don’t expect them to beat the odds and pick the Spurs once again.
