squads in the thick of the playoff race.
Date/Time/TV: Fri. Feb.22, 9:30 PM EST, ESPN
Spread: Oklahoma City Thunder -3.5 (-110)
The Jazz have been off since last Tuesday when they dropped a 115-108 road decision to the Golden
State Warriors. Utah entered the All-Star break having won three of their last five contests. For the
season, the club is 32-25 (29-26-2 ATS) and currently in 6th place in the West.
The Thunder enter tonight’s game with a record of 37-20 (33-24 ATS). The team is in 3rd place in
the west, 4.5 games behind the 1st place Warriors and five games in front of the Jazz. Oklahoma City
has won four of its last five, but they fell on the road to the New Orleans Pelicans by 11 points last
Utah is 6-4 (6-4 ATS) over the last 10. They’ve had some trouble with the conference’s top teams
over that span, with all four losses coming to teams ahead of them in the standings. On the road this
season, the Jazz are 14-14 (14-13-1 ATS).
Team totals are in the middle for the season to date at 28-28-1. The Over has been the correct call in
five of the last seven. Donovan Mitchell is the team’s leading scorer with 22.4 ppg. Rudy Gobert is
averaging 15.2 ppg and 12.9 boards, while Ricky Rubio contributes 13.0 ppg and 6.1 dimes.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Oklahoma City closed out the first half of the season playing really well. The team is 8-2 (7-3 ATS)
over its last 10. The Thunder have defended the home court well this season with a record of 20-7
(16-11 ATS) thus far.
Team totals have been Under for three of the last four, but they lean towards the Over for the year at
30-27. Russell Westbrook tops the team in a number of major statistical categories. He’s averaging
21.7 ppg, 11.2 rpg, and 11.2 apg. Paul George is the leading scorer with 28.7 ppg.
Jazz vs. Thunder Prediction
This will be the third meeting of the season for these two teams. The Thunder have won the first two
and covered both – one home and one away. They last hooked up in Utah back on December 22.
Oklahoma City walked away with a 107-106 victory as 2-point underdogs. For the last 10 meetings,
The Thunder have a 6-4 edge with the Under coming in six times.
The Thunder are 3.5-point home favorites for their first game back since the break. They get the edge
on offense, while the visitors are the stronger defensive squad. We like the hosts to kick off the
stretch run on a high note as they pick up the win and cover.
Utah Jazz vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder -3.5 (-110)
