College Basketball Saturday Line Report: Zion Out
Duke and North Carolina take to the hardwood this Saturday afternoon to complete their regular slates. The second meeting of the 2018-19 season between the two is the ESPN featured event on this final Saturday of regular season conference play. Tip off is schedule for 6:00 p.m. ET. Also the event will find the Blue Devils short freshman forward, and projected No. 1 NBA pick in this summers draft, Zion Williamson. College Basketball Saturday Line Report: Zion Out.
Williamson was ruled out late Friday night. Despite what coach Mike Krzyzewski termed “a really good workout” by the freshman on Thursday the frosh standout will mis his fifth full game after suffering a knee sprain on Feb. 20 in the opening minute of Duke’s loss to these same Tar Heels.
One of these two potential No. 1 seeds for this year’s Big Dance will lose today. This is basketball in which tie-games don’t exist. And regardless of which squad wins or losses my money is on both of these tradition rich ACC programs to earn a No. 1 seed come Selection Sunday.
Duke (26-4, 14-3 ACC) is 3-2 without Williamson as a starter. The expected No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 Association draft is averaging 21.6 points and 8.8 rebounds. The five games he has missed hasn’t diminished his chances of earning the national player of the year.
