Vegas Women’s March Madness Odds: Huskies 7-2

The run of the Connecticut Huskies women’s basketball teams receiving a No. 1 seed has come to an end. And with that the women’s side of the NCAA college basketball national championship tournament is wide-open.

Defending champion Notre Dame is one of handful of teams that are public contenders. However the Irish are far from a lock and for the first time in over a decade the Vegas and Offshore bookmakers have issued odds that issue hoop investors some value on their dollar.

Yes, the Baylor Bears and the Irish in combination with the UConn Huskies are overwhelming public choices. And ditto, the oddsmakers have positioned the trio as such. But in truth this tournament can be won by a baker’s half dozen squads.

How balanced is this year’s field? Uber-so.

Consider the regular season saw defending national champs Notre Dame lose to tradition rich Uconn. Baylor took down the Huskies at home. Stanford lost to mid-major Gonzaga and defeated this year’s favorite to win it all Baylor. The Irish also lost to conference lesser North Carolina.

As a result the defending champs, Notre Dame (2-1), Baylor (9-5) and the UConn Huskies (7-2) are in a virtual dead heat to win this year’s title.

The World’s Largest Race and Sportsbook, Westgate of Las Vegas updated Odds to win Women’s College Basketball Championship.
