William Hill College Basketball Conference Tourney Odds

The power rankings of the West Coast Conference makes the league a one-team college basketball national championship entry. Unless of course the Bulldogs fail to win the postseason tournament. In which case the automatic berth would go to the team that wins the event plus Gonzaga.

The Zags (-1100) are the overwhelming favorite at William Hill of the U.S. Gonzaga enters the postseason league tourney ranked No. 1 in Division I in adjusted efficiency, effective FG% and 2P%.

Gonzaga Team Assets

The 2018-19 Bulldogs score a KenPom.com 127.6 in adjusted Offensive Efficiency. The Raw number in the Off.Efficiency category is 125.1. The team’s Def.Efficiency rating at KenPom ranks 13th overall at 92.7.

Gonzaga Team Liabilities

As usual for the Zags college basketball pundits question whether the group is “battle tested” due to the conferences below average league power rating. In addition the depth of this Gonzaga team is less than the other top ranked squads from Power-6 conferences.

2019 Mountain West Conference Tournament Format Change

A tournament format change was made and installed for the 2019 postseason tourney. The top two seeds receive a triple bye. Which puts the Zags first contest in the semifinals bracket. The bottom line difference from years past means that Gonzaga plays would play one less game to earn a NCAAB National Championship, this assuming they win the league tournaments semifinal tilt and advance to the championship game.
