2019 NFL Week 1 Line Report: Browns -5

2019 NFL Week 1 Line Report: Browns -5

The world champion New England Patriots won’t be featured in the 2019 National Football League Thursday Night season opener which has been a tradition since the inception of TNF. Tom Brady and company will kick off defense of their sixth Super Bowl title on Sunday Night Football hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Gillette Stadium will field the final of the first Sunday of the 2019 regular season. Kickoff is slated for 8:20 p.m. ET and will be broadcast by NBC. The NFL released the entire 2019 regular-season schedule today.

The league is buying into the belief that the Cleveland Browns will be competitive this season. In this case the NFL office is rewarding a Browns team this year. An organization that has appeared in fewer prime-time games (11) during the past 10 seasons than any team in the league.

The Browns begin their 2019 prime-time slate of events in Week 2 in New York against the Jets on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. The following week, on short rest, they will host the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football.

In Week 5 they play their second Monday night contest of the season in San Francisco against the 49ers. Their fourth and final prime time contest comes against longtime division rival Pittsburgh. The Browns host the Steelers on Thursday night in Week 11.

The  Brownies open the regular season as five-point favorites at home against the Tennessee Titans.
