NFL Coach of the Year Odds from Las Vegas
Can “The Patriot Way” continue without its star quarterback? William Hill has just released their NFL Coach of the Year odds, and New England’s Bill Belichick is the +850 favorite, followed by Tom Brady’s new coach, Bruce Arians, at +1200. Belichick has won the award three times, and Arians has claimed the trophy twice. Baltimore’s John Harbaugh won the award last year, and is +1800 to repeat. Kansas City’s Andy Reid (+1800) has only won Coach of the Year once in his illustrious career (2002). Mike McCarthy is +1400 in his first year in Dallas, and Kevin Stefanski is +1500 in his first year in Cleveland.

I’m intrigued by the two coaches in New York, Joe Judge and Adam Gase, both at 30-to-1. For the Jets, the AFC East is there for the taking. Assuming Tua Tagovailoa gets the starting job in Miami, Sam Darnold will be the most-experienced quarterback in that division. And for the Giants, I’m not quite as high on the prospects of Daniel Jones at quarterback, but I do think there’s a chance that New York hangs around for a playoff spot in the NFC (remember, the field is expanded to seven teams).
