The National Football League is not just suffering a large number of injuries in 2017 but to key player personnel. The Vegas and Offshore sportbooks have kept games “off” the board until injury information is reliable. NFL Week 6 Line Report: Raiders Carr active?
In Week #4 and #5 a large number of players suffered injuries that created inactive status for the personnel. Oakland Raiders quarterback David Carr went down just outside of the pocket without taking a hard hit in Week #4 and was inactive in Week #5. Carr suffered a fractured transverse process in his lower back. It is an area where many muscles and tissues attach. Tony Romo dealt with the same injury three years ago, and only missed one game. Cam Newton suffered the same injury but not on the football field. Newton was involved in a car accident in December 2014, and also missed just one game. Oakland initially announced that Carr would miss at least two weeks with the signal-caller being out as much as six weeks. ESPN reported on Monday night that head coach Jack Del Rio told the local media the Carr would play this Sunday.
Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook suffered a knee injury in Week #4 and as a result is out for the season. Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota strained a hamstring and didn’t play last Sunday. The loss of Green Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery (broken ribs) didn’t prevent the oddsmakers from posting a line on Sunday’s game in Dallas versus the Cowboys. Furthermore in last week’s Atlanta Falcons loss to the Buffalo Bills wide receiver Julio Jones (hip) left the game in the first half and didn’t return. Despite Jones being questionable for Sunday’s contest against the Miami Dolphins the Falcons are double-digit favorites this weekend.

The World’s Largest Race and Sportsbook has updated their NFL Week #6 point-spread and totals. The Vegas shop has posted updated lines on all games, save two. The Los Angeles Chargers and Raiders game is off the board because of the questions that surround Carr. As is the Monday Night Football affair between the Indianapolis Colts and Titans because of the status of quarterbacks Andrew Luck and Mariota.
