Game Preview

The Canadiens hit the ice tonight with an overall record of 24-17-5, good enough for 53 points and 8th place in the East. Last time out, the team picked up a 3-0 victory over the visiting Colorado Avalanche, and they have won two of three overall.

The Bruins have mark of 26-15-4, and the team currently sits in 5th place in the East with 53 points. Saturday night was also good to the Bruins, as they notched a 3-2 road victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Montreal Canadiens

The Canadiens opened up 2019 with three straight games at home, going 1-2, but they have been on the road for two of the past three, holding a 2-1 record over that span. The team has been solid on the road for the year, going 12-8-3.

The Canadiens are over .500 for their last 10 at 6-4 (3-7 O/U), and they’ll be looking for some revenge on last month’s 4-0 loss to the Bruins. Brendan Gallagher leads the way on offense with 17 goals on the year. Carey Price has been confirmed to be in net for this evening’s festivities. He’s 17-13-4 this season with a 2.67 GAA and a .910 save percentage.

Boston Bruins

The Bruins have been on fire since the tail end of 2018, winning six of seven with a five-game winning streak packed in that span. The team has held down the fort quite well, going 16-6 on home ice. For the last 10 games, the Bruins have rolled to a mark of 7-3 (4-4-2 O/U).

Tuukka Rask has been given the nod in net, and he has been riding a hot streak of his own with wins in five straight outings. On the year, Rask has a record of 13-7-2 with a 2.39 GAA and a .924 save percentage. David Pastrnak is the Bruins leading goal scorer with 26 this season.

Canadiens vs. Bruins Prediction

These two Original Six rivals have hooked up three times this year. Boston holds a 2- 1 edge, and both clubs have notched shutout victories. We should expect another entertaining affair tonight, as these two clubs tend to bring out the best in each other.

The Bruins have been playing better hockey of late, and they have a hot goalie between the pipes tonight in Rask. Oddsmakers have installed them as a solid home favorite, and we’ll be looking for them to skate off of the ice with another win this evening.
