The Kings are winless over their last five games, a span which includes an OT and a shootout loss.
For the season, Los Angeles checks in with a record of 23-30-6. The team is in the basement in the
west with just 52 points.
The Predators have fared much better this season. They’re in 4th place in the conference with a
record of 35-22-5 and 75 points. Nashville is six points behind the 1st place Calgary Flames, and just
a single point back of the 3rd place Winnipeg Jets.
Los Angeles Kings
It has been a nightmare of a season for Los Angeles, and the club shows no signs of turning things
around anytime soon. The Kings are 4-4-2 (8-2 O/U) over their last 10 contests. The team has
struggled on the road this season with a mark of 11-15-3 so far.
Jonathan Quick is expected to be in goal tonight. He’s 11-14-5 on the year with a 3.09 GAA and .899
save percentage. Quick has victories in two of his last five while allowing 19 goals. Anze Kopitar is
the team’s leading goal scorer with 17, while Drew Doughty tops the team in assists with 28.
Nashville has been average of late with a record of 5-4-1 (4-6 O/U) over the last 10 games, but the
club has notched wins in two of the last three. The Predators have been strong on the home ice with a
mark of 19-11-1 to date.
Pekka Rinne has the probable tag for this evening’s game. He’s 21-15-3 with a 2.48 GAA and .916
save percentage. Rinne has wins in three of his last five with 12 goals allowed. Viktor Arvidsson tops
the team with 26 goals, while Ryan Johansen is the team leader with 42 assists.
Kings vs. Predators Prediction
These clubs have faced off once this season. Back in November, Nashville picked up a 5-3 victory on
the home ice. The Predators have won the last four in a row versus the Kings, but the teams are
knotted at 5-5 over their last 10 meetings. Four of those games went to OT, while the Over came in
for five of them.
The Kings are one of the league’s poorer squads and will be hitting the road to take on a playoff
contender that’s stout at home. We’ll take the hosts to skate to an easy victory.
Los Angeles Kings vs. Nashville Predators Pick: Nashville Predators -230
