Game Preview

The Penguins are riding a four-game winning streak as they get set for tonight’s tilt. The team is 28-
20-7 on the year, which translates into 63 points and 8th place in the Eastern Conference. Pittsburgh
is just a single point ahead of the Carolina Hurricanes in the race for the 8th seed.

The streaking Fluers have won nine of their last 10, with the lone blemish over that span coming in a
shootout loss to the Los Angeles Kings last Thursday. Philadelphia is 25-23-7 for the year with 57
points. They are currently in 11th place in the east, six points out of a playoff spot.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Pittsburgh has lost four straight and been outscored 15-8 while doing so. The team is 3-6-1 (5-5 O/U)
over its last 10. The Penguins have been decent on the road at 13-10-3 thus far, but they have lost six
straight away games.

Matt Murray has the probable tag. He’s 15-9-1 to date with a 2.97 GAA and .909 save percentage.
For his last five, Murray is 2-3 with 16 goals allowed. Sidney Crosby tops the team with 62 points,
while Jake Guentzel leads the way with 26 goals.

Philadelphia Flyers

Philadelphia bottomed out with an eight-game losing streak which extended from December into
January, but the club has turned things around in dramatic fashion. The Flyers are 9-0-1 (5-5 O/U)
over their last 10 contests. They have fared pretty well at home with a mark of 14-10-3.

Carter Hart will be between the pipes. He’s 11-5-1 with a 2.45 GAA and .926 save percentage. Hart
is a sizzling 5-0 with 10 goals against over his last five. Sean Couturier is the team’s leading goal
scorer with 23, while Claude Giroux is tops with 42 assists.

Penguins vs. Flyers Prediction

These teams have hooked up just once this season, a 4-2 road victory for the Flyers back in
December. The Penguins are 8-2 over the last 10 meetings, and they are just 2-2 for the last four
versus the Flyers. Pittsburgh has the statistical edge in several categories, but the Flyers have shown
a ton of improvement in recent times.

In a nutshell, we have a team which has been struggling of late that’s hitting the road to take on a
red-hot team which will have a sizzling goaltender in net. We like the hosts to continue their recent
run of stellar play and to pick up the win on the home ice.
