Boston Bruins at Toronto Maple Leafs Game 3 Info
It feels as though the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs have just begun, yet we already have a couple of teams staring
down the barrel of elimination. The Pittsburgh Penguins, who are usually money in the postseason, are 3 games
down against the Islanders, but the biggest surprise of all is what is happening to the President’s Trophy winners.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are in an 0-3 hole against the Columbus Blue Jackets and are simply not playing like the
team we saw in the regular season. Things are a little more even in most of the other opening round match-ups,
including the one that features a pair of Original Six rivals going head to head. The Toronto Maple Leafs will be
heading back home on Monday night after getting a split in the opening two games in Boston. That means that the
Leafs have home ice advantage, although how long that lasts remains to be seen. The Bruins took 3 of 4 from the
Leafs in the regular season, so they will fancy their chances of winning on the road and stealing home ice back. It is
Toronto who are favored by 1 ½ in Game 3, with the goal total set at 6.
When: Monday, April 15 at 7 PM EST

Why bet on the Boston Bruins
The Boston Bruins finished the regular season 7 points better off than the Maple Leafs in the Atlantic Division,
while also having the edge over their division rivals in the regular season series. The form book went out the
window pretty quickly in Game 1, though, with the Bruins going down 4-1. Losing the opening game of a series at
home is not the end of the world, but it does mean that the pressure is on in Game 2. Boston responded as they
needed to, flipping the script and coming away with a 4-1 win of their own. The Bruins actually won the opening 2
games of their playoff series against the Leafs last season before eventually needing 7 games to win that one. This
suggests that we might be in for another long one here. The Bruins are 23-18 ATS on the road this season.
Why bet on the Toronto Maple Leafs
The Maple Leafs are a younger team with not a lot of playoff experience, which is why they were not given much
of a shot here. That they were able to go into a hostile environment and come away with exactly the outcome they
wanted suggests that this is not a team that is going to go down without a fight. The Leafs will now head to home
ice, where they were 23-16-2 this season, which is not exactly the home record you would expect from a team that
ended up the season with 100 points. They won their first home game of the season against the Bruins, but went
down in the second, which was their final meeting of the regular season. Toronto are just 17-24 ATS on home ice.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
Both games in this series have gone UNDER the point total, so it’s probably fair to suggest that we might see more
of the same here. I think Boston rides out the early wave of pressure and come away with the win in Game 3. If
you don’t want to play them outright, go with the cover.
