Two of the NHL’s very best teams face off this evening in a potential Stanley Cup finals preview. The
Toronto Maple Leafs head to Calgary to square off with the Flames, a meeting of two of the top clubs in
their respective conferences.

The Maple Leafs were last in action on Saturday, skating to a 5-2 home victory over the Buffalo
Sabres. That was the team’s fourth win in its last five outings. For the year, Toronto is 40-21-4 with
84 points, which is good enough for 3rd place in the Eastern Conference.
The Flames are atop the Western Conference with 89 points and a record of 41-17-7. The team also
has victories in four of its last five, but they came up short last time out. On Saturday, Calgary fell at
home to the Minnesota Wild by a score of 4-2.

Saturday’s big home victory was a bounce back from a disappointing 6-1 road loss to the New York
Islanders on Thursday. The team is a solid 6-3-1 (7-3 O?U) for its last 10 contests. The Maple Leafs
have been strong on the road this season with a mark of 19-9-3 thus far.
Frederik Andersen is expected to be in goal tonight. He’s 31-13-3 with a 2.58 GAA and .923 save
percentage to date. Andersen has wins in four of his last five with 13 goals allowed. Mitch Marner
leads the team with 78 points and 55 assists. John Tavares is the leading goal scorer with 37.
The loss to the Wild snapped a seven-game winning streak for the Flames. The team is 7-2-1 (3-5-2
O/U) over the last 10 games. The Flames have been stellar at home this year with a mark of 20-6-5,
and they have victories in three of their last four on the home ice.
David Rittich has the probable tag for the Flames. He’s 22-5-5 with a 2.56 GAA and .913 save
percentage on the year. Rittich has picked up the win in two of his last five while giving up 13 goals.
Johnny Gaudreau is the biggest offensive force for Calgary. He has 30 goals and 53 assists for 83

Toronto had won the previous three meetings. Over the last 10 games versus the Flames, the Maple

regardless. Two of the top teams in the league should combine for a fast-paced and competitive
