The Cleveland Cavaliers have won their past three games on their home floor against the Portland Trail Blazers. King James and company aim for a fourth straight victory against the Western Conference foe tonight.  In addition with a first-time player to their roster. Odds to Win 2018 NBA Championship (Jan 2nd).

The Cavaliers (4-to-1) are the second most likely franchise to win the 2018 NBA Team Title according to WestGate of Las Vegas. Isaiah Thomas will make his debut for Cleveland tonight according to head coach Ty Lue on the Cavaliers official team website.

The now-Cleveland Cavaliers guard Isaiah Thomas has been traded three times in his NBA career. In the Players’ Tribune on Wednesday, December 20th “Thomas revealed his feelings from the intense moment he found out about the trade. Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge traded him to the Cleveland Cavaliers. When Thomas speaks, you begin to realize NBA transactions don’t just involve the player but his family as well.”

“What are you talking about. My kids about to start school,” said the 28-year-old after the life-changing call with Ainge. “Danny’s like that, but I mean, I’m not trippin’. It’s just crazy that they would do that.”

Especially relevant for tonight’s contest, “The guard, who has been rehabbing from a hip injury, will come off the bench, will be on a minutes restriction and will not play the next night against the Boston Celtics — his old team. Thomas participated in a full-court scrimmage Friday against his Cavs teammates for the first time since the point guard was acquired in a trade from the Celtics for Kyrie Irving over the summer.”

According to the report “the prospect of playing against Irving on the Garden parquet is something that gets Thomas’ energy up; he couldn’t help but break into a wide smile on Friday when a reporter mentioned the upcoming Celtics game. However, he’ll have to wait until the Cavs’ game in Boston on Feb. 11. Thomas was knocked out of last season’s Eastern Conference Finals with the injury, was shockingly traded in the offseason and has been steadily working his way back.”

Isaiah Thomas News and Notes

  • Thomas was acquired in an offseason trade that sent Kyrie Irving to the Celtics.
  • Thomas has been out since last year’s Eastern Conference finals, when he played with Boston.
  • After months of grueling rehab, Thomas will finally take the floor with Cleveland tonight.
