San Antonio visits Philadelphia tonight for a West vs. East contest at Wells Fargo Center.  And tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET but the starting lineups will be nearly unrecognizable, at least for the Spurs. Odds to Win 2018 NBA Championship (Jan 3).

While the 76ers will be without star center Joel Embiid they are favored against the visiting Spurs. Yet Philly aims to end a stretch of 12 straight losses against visiting San Antonio who will be without five of their major contributors.

According to the Spurs coaching staff “announced that most of the key players will rest tonight. Most noteworthy are Manu Ginobili (rest), Danny Green (tightness, left groin), Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker (return from injury management), all of which will not suit up.”

Furthermore the article at the league’s official website also noted that Rudy Gay, who is still recovering from a right heel injury, will also miss the game.

Embiid was injured in the team’s 123-110 victory over the on New Year’s Eve. Due to Embiid suffering an injury in the fourth quarter to his right hand going for an inbounds pass and the 76ers holding a lead he did not return to the game.

Finally the X-rays after the game were negative. While Embiid has been ruled “Out” for tonight’s event the injury is not considered serious.
