The third College Football Playoff Rankings won’t be released until Tuesday, November 14th, but it figures to see two new schools at the top of the charts after losses by both Georgia and Notre Dame this past weekend. Odds to Win 2018 College Football Playoff (November 13, 2017).

The new AP Top 25 poll released on Sunday had Alabama remaining at No #1. The Miami Hurricanes experienced the largest jump in the poll moving from No #11 to No #2 with their 41-8 win over Notre Dame on Saturday night. The rest of the top five includes Oklahoma, Clemson and Wisconsin, respectively.

The two school’s that fell the hardest in this week’s poll were Georgia and Notre Dame. The CFP Rankings top team, the Bulldogs, plummeted to No #7 in this week’s AP Poll while the Irish dropped six spots to No #9.

With college football rankings No #1 Georgia and No #3 Notre Dame losing on Saturday there will be an obvious shakeup in the CFP rankings on Tuesday. After this weekend’s football results went final there still remains three undefeated major-conference teams. Alabama, Miami and Wisconsin have all yet to be beaten this season and while it appears that Alabama may well be the only squad that could lose and remain in the committee’s Top-Four the others two undefeated are not necessary guaranteed a spot simply by winning.

Alabama has a pair of difficult tasks ahead of them. They have a regular season event against Auburn on the horizon and that would place them in the SEC Championship Game against Georgia. Miami will face Clemson for the ACC title, and the Big 10 Wisconsin Badgers still have games against Michigan and potentially Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship Game.

There is a chance that the Sooners could be ranked ahead of the Clemson Tigers this week after defeating a ranked opponent in the TCU Horned Frogs. I have written in several college football future articles this season that it is unlikely Wisconsin can realistically make the playoff as a one-loss team even it if were to close 2017 as the Big Ten champion. That statement may no longer be the case if Miami, Oklahoma or Clemson lose one of their final conference regular and postseason contests.
