In the 34th round of action of the Puerto Rican Basketball League (BSL or Baloncesto Superior Nacional), the worse team in the league, Caciques de Humacao (10-20), are hosting the fourth-best Leones De Ponce (15-16). The game takes place at the Humacao Arena in the city of Humacao on Saturday, July 21st 2018.

Date/Time: 07-21-2018, 20:00 EDT

Spread: Caciques de Humacao +1

Total: +174.5

Caciques de Humacao have a 10-20 record so far this season and currently sit on the last place of the league table. They have won two of their last three matches and in their last game they won on the road against Fajardo with a 92-95 score. They are led in scoring by Kyle Vinales with 20.1 ppg, adding 3.4 boards and 3.6 dimes per game. He is followed by Brandon Costner with 19 ppg and a team high 7.5 boards per game, while Alonzo Gee adds 15 ppg and 4.2 boards per game.

Leones De Ponce have a 15-16 record so far this season and currently sit in the fourth place of the league table. They have three consecutive wins and in their last game they won at home against San German with an 87-85 score. They are led in scoring by Mike Young with 20.1 ppg, adding 5.3 boards per game. He is followed by A.D. Vassalo with 16.3 ppg and 4.1 boards, while Peter Ramos adds 9.7 ppg and 6.2 boards per game.

Ponce lead Humacao 2-1 wins so far this season with each team having won at home. In the previous Humacao game, the hosts won with a 95-86 score. Humacao have a 6-8 home record so far this season, while Ponce are 5-11 on the road. Ponce are better both offensively, scoring 86.5 ppg to Humacao’s 86.1 and defensively, allowing a third-best of 86.1 ppg to Humacao’s league-low of 89.9. They also have better percentages both in 2-pointers, shooting with 53.6% to Humacao’s 49.6% and in 3-pointers, shooting with 36.1% to Humacao’s 35.1%. Ponce also dish more dimes per game (20.3 to 18), while both teams are very close both in turnovers committed (11.1 to 11.4) and in boards grabbed (34.2 and 34.1). The home court advantage has been a major factor in this series and Vegas odds give Ponce a -1 spread but don’t expect them to beat the odds and pick Humacao for another home victory.
