Sacramento Kings vs Los Angeles Lakers

Two of the weakest teams of the Western Conference and of the whole league are clashing tonight, when the Los Angeles Lakers (12-27), who ended a lengthy losing streak and want to continue on the winning ways, are hosting the Sacramento Kings (13-26), who are looking to bounce back after their latest defeat.

Date/Time:  01-09-2018, 22:30 EDT

Spread: Los Angeles Lakers -6.5

Total: +213

Lakers have a 12-27 record (18-21 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the last place of the West. In their last game they snapped a ten-game losing streak by winning at home against the Hawks with a 132-113 score, beating the odds. They show impressive offensive pluralism with seven players in double digit scoring, led by Kyle Kuzma with 17.1 ppg, adding 6.3 rebounds per game. He is followed by Brandon Ingram with 16.1 ppg and 5.5 rebounds, while Jordan Clarkson adds 14.2 ppg.

Kings have a 13-26 record (16-20-3 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the 12th place of the West. They have lost four of their last five matches and in their last game they lost at home against the Spurs with a 100-107 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Zach Randolph with 15.2 ppg, adding a team high 6.9 rebounds per game. He is followed by Buddy Hield with 12.3 ppg, while Willie Cauley-Stein adds 11.8 ppg and 6.4 rebounds.

In their previous matchup earlier this season, Kings won at home with a 113-102 score. Lakers are 7-14 at home so far this season, while Kings are 6-14 on the road. Lakers are better offensively, scoring 107 ppg to Kings’ league-low of 97.6, while Kings are better defensively, allowing 106.2 ppg to Lakers’ second-worse of 111.8. Lakers have a better field goal percentage, shooting with 45.4% to Kings’ 45.1%, while Kings have a better 3-point percentage, shooting with a third-best 38.1% to Lakers’ league-low of 32.8%. Lakers are better in rebounding, grabbing a third-best 46.2 to Kings’ third-worse of 40.2 and in assists made (23.3 to 20.8), while Kings are better in turnovers committed (14.3 to 16.6). Both teams are struggling equally and expect the home court advantage to be a major factor in this game. Vegas odds give Lakers a -6.5 spread and expect them to beat those odds for the home victory tonight.
