Spurs finished the regular season with a 47-35 record (42-38-2 against the spread). They were placed 7th in the West and they have back-to-back losses.

In the first game on Saturday, we witnessed a one-sided game as Warriors took an easy win with a 92-113 score. The defending champions were explosive in the opening quarter led by Durant’s 11 points and McGee’s energy in the paint on both ends of the floor. They took an 11-point lead in the first quarter, which they never lost until the end of the game. Halftime ended with the hosts up by 16 and the Spurs only managed to get as close as 9 points during the third quarter.

The Warriors were excellent defensively, holding the Spurs into just 40% from the field, while they shot with 54.3%. Thompson led them with 27 points on 5/6 3-point shooting, while Durant added 24 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Draymond Green narrowly missed a triple double with 12 points, 11 assists and 8 rebounds. For the Spurs Rudy Gay had 15 points and 6 rebounds, while Aldridge was held to 14.

Golden State have a 30-12 home record so far this season, while San Antonio are 14-27 on the road. Golden State have the best offense in the league with 113.5 ppg to San Antonio’s 102.7, while San Antonio have the best defense, allowing 99.8 ppg to Golden State’s 107.5. Golden State also have the best percentage from the field with 50.27% to San Antonio’s 45.75%, from behind the arc with 39.07% to San Antonio’s 35.2% and lead the league in assists made, with 29.3 to San Antonio’s 22.8. The Spurs grab more rebounds, with 44.2 to Golden States 43.5 per game. Spurs will not be as bad for second straight game but Warriors remain the favorite. Vegas odds give the Warriors a -9.5 but don’t expect them to beat the odds as Spurs will force a closer game.
