There is a massive match coming our way this weekend from the Bundesliga, where we have the so-called “Der Klassiker” on Saturday. Borussia Dortmund have been spectacular so far in the Bundesliga and are the only team to have not been defeated. They will now look for a positive performance when they will play host to eternal rivals Bayern Munich on Saturday. Bayern Munich are coming off an easy win in the Champions League and will be looking to keep it up.

Spread: Bayern Munich -0.25

Total: 3 Goals

Borussia Dortmund (7-0-3) are coming into this match after suffering a 0-2 loss on the road against Atletico Madrid. Their opponents took revenge for a massive 0-4 loss in Dortmund a couple of weeks ago. Despite the loss, Borussia Dortmund are still sitting at the top of their group with 9 points. Last week in the Bundesliga they recorded a really slim 1-0 win on the road against Wolfsburg. They have been amazing so far in the season, as that loss put an end to their 15-match undefeated streak they had. When it comes to the Bundesliga, Dortmund are also sitting at the top of the league table with 24 points. They are four points ahead of Gladbach and Bayern Munich, so even a loss here wouldn’t drop them from the top spot. Borussia Dortmund have been equally great at home so far in the season (6-0-2 in all competitions), but have kept just three clean sheets in that span.

On the other hand, Bayern Munich (6-2-2) had a rather pleasant afternoon at home in the Champions League, where they defeated AEK Athens by an easy 0-2. They are still leading their group with 10 points and are on track to grab one of the two top spots. Last week in the Bundesliga they were actually stuck at a 1-1 draw at home against Freiburg. They took the lead in that match but their opponents pulled even just 9 minutes later. Bayern Munich are on a six-match undefeated streak in all competitions and have won five in that span. They are sitting 3rd in the Bundesliga with 20 points, just as many as Gladbach above them. They have not scored a lot compared to other seasons, with just 18 goals after 10 matches. But they actually have the best away record in the league (4-1-0), and have actually won nine of their ten away matches in all competitions this season.

This is a classic derby in the Bundesliga and will surely be a very exciting match to watch. Bayern Munich have not produced a lot of goals in their away matches but all eight of Dortmund’s home matches featured at least Over 2.5 Goals. Bayern Munich are leading the match-up with 56 wins, 30 losses and 33 draws in all competitions. They even have the upper hand in Bundesliga matches (45-24-29) and have fared rather well in this venue in the past five years (5-3-4). The last two matches in this venue featured Over 2.5 Goals but the six previous ones had Under 2.5 Goals. I will take my chances with the Over 2.75 Goals here as this can easily blow up at any moment.
