Odds to Win 2019 Stanley Cup
Las Vegas is gearing up for a second straight Lord Stanley tournament in their second year of league existence. Similarly the Golden Knights have won four consecutive games with a Sunday defeat of the Vancouver Canucks. The 3-0 victory increased the Vegas point total to 77 on the season. As a result the win was goalie Marc-Andre Fleury’s second straight shutout. Odds to Win 2019 Stanley Cup: Vegas 10-1.
Head coach Gerard Gallant told the local media in Sunday’s post-game presser that his group of skaters “are playing their best hockey of the season.” After back-to-back shutouts, 15-year netminder Fleury certainly is. Fleury stopped 19 shots to lead the Golden Knights to their second straight 3-0 white-washing, vs the offensively challenged Anaheim Ducks Saturday and the Canucks on Sunday.
Fleury leads the league with eight shutouts and 32 wins. The No. 1 goalie for the Knights received on-ice defensive assistance from his teammates. Vegas’ defensive kept the Canucks without a shot on goal during a near-11 minute stretch in the first period, and more than 13 minutes in the final stanza.
Vegas has 15 regular season games remaining and hold a six point lead on the two current conference holders of the two wild-card spots.
