Keep your eyes on the NFL’s plans for the playoffs and where they will be held. The NFL is still exploring a neutral site bubble for the playoffs, but no formal plans have been announced. If a playoff bubble comes to fruition, think about taking some longer shots on teams near the fringe. The No. 1 seed in each conference will get a first round bye. That is set in stone and will certainly provide a big advantage for those teams. But for the other six in each conference, if you remove fans, travel and play in a neutral site, what will separate the 2-seed from the 7-seed?! Not much. Keep your eye on the league’s headlines.
It has been 15 years since a team has won back-to-back championships (Patriots in 2004 and 2005). Seattle made it to back-to-back Super Bowls in 2014 and 2015, but lost the second leg. New England appeared in three-straight Super Bowls from 2017-2019, but lost the middle leg.
Super Bowl 55 is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 7 2021 from Tampa, Florida. This will be Tampa’s fifth time hosting the Super Bowl, with the last one coming in 2009 between the Cardinals and Steelers. A team hosting the Super Bowl has never won it.
