How Bets on Cancelled Events are Handled

Last Updated on

The entire world is in a period of uncertainty now that expands well beyond the sports that we love to watch and wager on. That said, we do feel the need to address what is happening in the gaming industry in terms of sports wagering. Here are YouWager, we always do our utmost to ensure that all of our clients are kept in the loop in regards all things related to the industry.

In light of the worldwide health situation that has been developing and its repercussions for the Sports Industry, we would like to communicate the following regarding bets on the recently canceled sporting events:

  • All Conference Tournament Action Has Been Cancelled (No Bet) – The NCAA took the step of not only canceling their conference tournaments, but also March Madness. This applies to both the men’s and the women’s tournaments, so any wagers made on those events will be declared no bet and returned to your account. The exception here is in the men’s basetball, where the Florida State Seminoles were declared champions of the ACC, while Yale were champions of the Ivy League. If you had wagered on those teams to win their conference, your ticket will be graded and paid.
  • NBA and NHL Wagers are “On Hold” – As it stands at the moment, the NBA and the NHL have simply suspended operations and are looking to return at a later, as yet unspecified, date. As such, the gaming industry has decided that any outstanding wagers on these leagues will be put on hold until a final decision is made. The same rules apply for the major soccer leagues across the world, all of which are also currently suspended but not canceled.
  • MLB Futures Remain In Play – At the time of the suspension of play, the MLB season had not yet begun. The goal for the league is to resume play at the earliest possible date, so any futures wagers on the MLB will remain active until such times as the league makes a final determination on the upcoming season.

On the brighter side of things, all rollover and payout rules are exactly the same as they have always been. The main reason for this is because YouWager is more than just a sports betting site. There are still plenty of things or you to wager on right now, plus we still have our casino and poker rooms live and accepting your wagers. If you take a look at what is on offer there, you will see all kinds of bonuses are available for you to take advantage of.

Why not come on over to the casino and see the welcome, reload, crypto and slot of the week bonuses that are currently in play. There is a lot of free money on offer there, so we hope to see you there and we hope to continue serving you to the best of our ability through these uncertain times. Come visit us by clicking HERE.
