College football

Let’s put Texas A&M and Penn State on upset alert this week.

Texas A&M made the top 4 in the college football playoff committee rankings, but they face a stiff test at Mississippi State.

Penn State made a surprise appearance at 12th in the committee rankings. Iowa visits Happy Valley this week.

It shouldn’t be surprising that I think these were the two most overrated team by the playoff committee.

By the numbers, I could have put Alabama and Wisconsin on upset alert as well. But I felt more comfortable with the above choices.

Neither Texas A&M or Penn State should lose, but don’t be surprised if one of them goes down.

Virginia Tech will beat Duke by 8.4.

Oklahoma State will beat Kansas State by 1.6.

Clemson will beat Syracuse by 27.6.
