NBA Rockets vs Warriors Spread and Prediction (02-20-20)

Two teams sitting on opposite sides of the Western Conference table are clashing tonight, when the last Golden State Warriors (12-43), looking to end their current losing streak, are hosting the fifth Houston Rockets (34-20), who on the other hand want to turn their latest victory into a streak.

Date/Time: 02-20-2020, 22:30 EDT

Spread: Golden State Warriors +9.5

Total: +229.5

Golden State Warriors have a 12-43 record (27-28 against the spread) and are sitting in the last place of the West. They have four consecutive losses and in their last game they lost on the road against the Suns with a 106-112 score, beating the odds. Andrew Wiggins leads the team in scoring with 22.5 ppg, adding 5 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. Steph Curry follows with 20.2 ppg and a team high 6.5 assists but he is out until early March.

Houston Rockets have a 34-20 record (26-28 against the spread) and are sitting in the 5th place of the West. In their last game they snapped a two-game losing streak by winning at home against the Celtics with a 116-105 score, beating the odds. James Harden leads the team both in scoring with 35.3 ppg and in assists made with 7.3, adding 6.5 rebounds per game. Russell Westbrook follows with 27.2 ppg, adding 7.2 assists and a team high 8 rebounds per game team.

In their two previous meetings earlier this season both teams won once at home. Warriors won by 12 points and Rockets by 17. Warriors are 7-19 at home, while the Rockets are 15-12 on the road. Rockets are better offensively, scoring 118.2 ppg to Warriors’ 106.3, while both teams are very close defensively, allowing 114.5 and 114.7 ppg. Rockets have better percentages both in field goals (45.1% to 43.3%) and in 3-pointers (34.7% to 34.1%). On the other hand, Warriors are better in assists made (25.2 to 21.4), while Rockets are better in rebounding (45.6 to 43.1) and both teams are very close in turnovers committed (14.4 to 14.7). Bookmakers give the Rockets a -9.5 spread but don’t expect them to beat the odds as the hosts will surely force a closer game than that at home.

Houston Rockets vs Golden State Warriors Pick: Golden State Warriors +9.5 (-116)
