Busters Sports will be releasing their Top-10 NHL teams each week of the 2019-20 season. They will not be the top-10 teams in terms of league standings, but what we believe are the teams that are deserving of the top spots in the NHL. Buster Sports dominated the NHL last year with a record of 166-126-9, making their clients a PROFIT OF 115.68%. This year, Buster is hitting at a 63-percent clip (41-24-3) over their last 68 NHL total releases.

Buster’s Top-10 NHL Teams (Feb. 17 – 23)
1) TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING
Tampa Bay shows why they are our Number 1 club as they have had a dominating week. The Lightning now have won 10 games in a row and have went a staggering 22-3 in their last 25 games. They now get to play some of the best of the West as they are in Colorado tonight and in Vegas on Thursday. They finish their 3 game road trip in Arizona on Saturday. This club has been very good on special teams especially of late. They are now ranked 6th on the PP and 5th on the PK. HC Cooper has his team playing the way everyone expected. No matter what happens in their 3 games this week they will be number 1 on our list next week.
2) BOSTON BRUINS
The Bruins jump over the Penguins for our Number 2 spot and for good reason. We truly believe that they are the second best team in the NHL. They could have been in this spot last week but an unbelievable loss to the worst team in hockey the Detroit Red Wings stopped that from happening. They got their revenge with Detroit this week and won their other two games. They have now won 9 out of their last 10 games. They are truly hitting their stride and do have the most points in the NHL. It is going to be a great finish to see who finishes Number 1 between the Bruins and the Lightning. They have 3 road games this week on the always brutal Western Canada road trip. We expect them to win at least 2 out of those 3 games.
3) PITTSBURGH PENGUINS
The Penguins keep their Number 3 spot this week as we have the Bruins jumping over them for second spot. The Penguins went 2-1 last week and their special teams became slightly worse rather than better. We are still waiting to see this PP come together especially now that Jason Zucker has joined the club. We believe this is going to be a HUGE addition as the Penguins move forward. The Penguins have 4 games this week including a home and home with the hated Maple Leafs. The Penguins can really put a nail in the Leafs coffin in winning both games and everyone knows that is what we would love to see. As long as the Penguins go 3-1 on the week, they will keep their spot. If the Penguins go 2-2 but beat the Leafs both games they will also keep their spot. As of then, we would believe they are very very deserving.
4) WASHINGTON CAPITALS
The Capitals have really shit the bed of late losing 5 out of their last 8 games. They went 1-2 last week and that had them moved from the second spot down to the 4th spot on our list. They have 4 games this week and if they do not start winning they will keep dropping. We are well aware that these types of streaks happen, even to the best teams in the league. However, it is now the time in the NHL season where the cream rises to the top and Washington has the type of club to be that cream. They play in Vegas tonight and we are looking for a HUGE game tonight to get them out of their funk. Not sure if 2-2 will be good enough to keep their new spot next week. Only time will tell.
5) COLORADO AVALANCHE
The Avalanche went 1-2 on the week but they still keep their number 5 spot but truthfully, they are on thin ice in this spot and could drop a bunch of spots with another bad week. They have a HUGE game tonight against the best team in hockey, the Tampa Bay Lightning. This will be one of their 4 games this week. Even with the bad week last week, they still have won 8 out of their past 11 games and that is what keeps them in their 5th spot. We are still looking for the Avalanche to improve their special teams and this will be a necessity if they want to hoist Lord Stanley at the end of the year.
6) LAS VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS
The Golden Knights jump to the 6th spot on our list as they finish a solid 2-1 week. They are 5-3 in their last 8 games and continue a long homestand this week with 3 more home games and then they go on the road to Anaheim for their last game of the week. This week we will see how far the Golden knights have come under have HC Peter DeBoer. They play the Capitals, Lightning and Panthers all at home so if they are a team that will compete for Lord Stanley this year, they should at least go 2-1 in those games. Their PK dropped to 22nd this week and is becoming more and more of a problem each week. Vegas is on really shaky ground in this spot, and will drop back down our list with a bad week.
7) ST. LOUIS BLUES
The Blues have really fell on some hard times since the break. We believe they are still a very good hockey club but there are so many others out there and because of this they drop down to 6th on our list. This is what we said last week and now they drop down one more spot to 7th this week. The Blues went 0-3 with a suspended game because of the Jay Bouwmeester incident. We are very happy to hear that Jay is on his way to recovery. In saying this when these type of situations happen to a team they can either struggle or dig deep. It will be interesting to see how this effects the club moving forward. The Blues have now lost a very ugly 10 out their last 12 games. Here is the catch, the Western Conference is such a mess this year that they are still the Top Team in the Western Conference. They also are still one of the top clubs favored to win Lord Stanley. Go figure. The Blues have 4 games this week. All that we know is another week like the last one and they will be off our list.
8) DALLAS STARS
As long as they go 3-1 they will stay on the list. This is what we said last week and this is what Dallas did this week, and thus they stay on the list. We would have loved to kick them off the list especially after losing to the Senators yesterday and costing us a HUGE losing day. However, this is about who we believe are the Top 10 teams in the league and is no place for any vendettas we have on a club. We also must say it is very hard to kick off a team that are tied for first in the Western Conference. It would not shock us to see them represent the West in the Stanley Cup this year. If they are going to do that, they will need to keep improving their special teams as they did this past week. Dallas has 3 games this week that are all at home. They also have a couple of days off before playing on Wednesday. They should at least win a couple of these games.
9) PHILADELPHIA FLYERS
The Flyers move up our list as they had a 2-2 week but both their losses this week were tough ones. We really like the way this club has been playing and in our mind no one else was deserving of this spot so it is theirs for this week. There will be a number of teams fighting for this spot next week. We will see how the week shakes out for the bottom half of our list and there could be a few changes. The Flyers play 3 games this week including a home and home against Columbus. This should be a good test to see where this club sits moving forward. They must be 2-1 on the week or they will be off the list.
10) NASHVILLE PREDATORS
We actually said last week that no matter what the Columbus Blue Jackets would stay on our list. Well they went 0-4 and we had to tell a little lie, as we believe this club, the Nashville Predators have maybe finally turned the corner. In saying this, they will take the 10th spot that was going to be for Columbus. The Predators have now won 7 out of their last 10 games and were very impressive beating the St. Louis Blues in both games of a home and home on the weekend. Nashville has 3 games this week and they are knocking on the door of a playoff spot. They have 2 games in hand on Calgary and three on Arizona as they are now only 1 point behind these clubs for the final playoff spot. As time goes by, we see this club moving up our list.
