New Zealand All Blacks vs. Australia Wallabies
WagerTalk handicapper Kevin Dolan offers his rugby betting thoughts on the late Saturday/early Sunday (depending on where you are) match between New Zealand and Australia. The All Blacks of New Zealand have not lost a match to the Wallabies at Eden Park since 1986.
New Zealand were fortunate last time out in the first test against Australia, the Wallabies had a chance to nick the game late, with the Kiwis holding onto a draw to see out the game last week. Dave Rennie really has this Australia team humming right now and with last Sunday’s showing, they’ll be confident of getting a result here in Auckland.
However, if there is one thing New Zealand is excellent at, it’s revenge missions and we just don’t like Australia’s chances in this 2nd test. New Zealand had just 39% possession last week with the media immediately jumping on their backs with “inept performance” being thrown around. The last time this New Zealand team was slated so badly was in last year’s loss to the Wallabies, where they got beat 47-26 in Australia. A week later they absolutely annihilated the Aussies 36-0 in a rout to answer any critics, and we see a similar result here.
Australia have lost 19 consecutive trips to Auckland and haven’t won there since 1986. In the last decade especially, their margin of defeat has been abysmal, averaging 25.25 points on average. Australia also haven’t lost by less than 27 points in all of their last five H2H’s inside this venue.
Take New Zealand to answer their critics this weekend with a convincing blowout victory over Australia in the Bledisloe Cup.
Play: NEW ZEALAND -15
