The second leg matches of the Champions League round of 16 will start this Tuesday. German side Dortmund were not very bad in their away match against Tottenham but suffered a bad loss. They will now look to overturn that deficit when they will host Tottenham on Tuesday. Tottenham scored two late goals that gave them a massive advantage in the first leg.

Date/Time: 3-5-2019, 15:00 EST

Spread: Tottenham +0.5

Total: 3 Goals

Dortmund were actually really good in the first half of the first leg, despite the massive loss. They had five shots on target against just one by Tottenham. But it was the Spurs that took the lead at the 47th minute. And it all looked like a small win for Tottenham but they scored two more goals in a three-minute span to win by 0-3. Since that match Dortmund have won just once in three matches (1-1-1). Dortmund have won just one of their last seven knock-out matches in UEFA competitions (1-4-2) though. Their record in two-legged ties against English sides stands at W3 L2. In 12 matches at home against English opposition Dortmund have a 6-2-4 record, with two of those losses coming last season against Tottenham.

On the other hand, Tottenham were pretty bad in the first half of the first leg. But they did a great job to hit twice in a three-minute span and got a massive advantage. They were really lucky not to concede a goal, as Dortmund had a lot of chances to do so. This is the third time that Tottenham participate in the round of 16 of the Champions League (W1 L1). They have yet to lose an away match in this round (1-0-1). Tottenham have a solid 4-6-2 record in Germany, and have lost just once in their last five trips (2-1-2). When it comes to two-legged ties against German sides, Tottenham have a W4 L3 record, losing each of the last two. However, they have traditionally struggled on the road, winning just four of their last 18 European away matches (4-7-7).

The two teams have met on five occasions in the past, with Tottenham winning three times and Dortmund winning twice. But Tottenham have won all three Champions League matches. Both Dortmund’s wins have come in the Europa League back in the 2015/16 season.

Dortmund need a big win here, but also with a clean sheet. If Tottenham score once here it would take Dortmund five goals in order to qualify. So the hosts not only need to be great up front, but perfect at the back too. This match can blow up easily, so I will take the Over 3 Goals here.
