The WGC Match Play is being played at the Austin Country Club in Austin, Texas.  This course is a Pete Dye design which means it has a distinct layout that will correlate with most other Pete Dye courses across the country.  This is one angle that we can look for to find some value throughout the next 5 days of match play.

Betting match play events are very different from stroke play events.  There is quite a bit of randomness to it, which makes it tougher to handicap.  The style of play in each match is very different also.  The golfers are not going out and looking to make birdies to keep up with the rest of the leaderboard.  They are playing their opponent just as much as they are playing the course.  Opportunities to bet underdogs are what I tend to look for in these events.  Last year during this event if you were to bet all the underdogs blindly, you would have made a nice profit.  I would not recommend a bet on all of the dogs, but I am hoping to play some of them.  Just do not forget to tread lightly in match play formats!

Here are a few that I have been looking at:

WGC Dell Match Play Predictions-

1U Charley Hoffman +120 vs. Brandt Snedeker

(.5 Unit)  Kiradech Aphibarnrat +135 vs. Jimmy Walker

(.5 Unit)  Jason Dufner +155 vs. Rickie Fowler

1U Daniel Berger +135 vs. Patrick Reed

Hope to find some solid matchups for the Puerto Rico Open.  Stay tuned!
