The best team of the East is facing the worse of the West as the Las Vegas Aces (14-18), who have been mathematically eliminated from the upcoming playoffs, are hosting the best team of the East, the Atlanta Dream (22-11), who saw a lengthy winning streak end and are looking to bounce back and secure the second place of the league.

Date/Time: 08-19-2018 18:00 EDT

Spread: Las Vegas Aces +4.5

Total: +175

Las Vegas Aces have a 14-18 record (16-15-1 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the last place of the West. In their last game they saw a two-game winning streak getting snapped by losing on the road against the Dallas Wings with a 102-107 score. They are led in scoring by A’ja Wilson with 20.7 ppg, adding a team high 8 boards per game. She is followed by Kayla McBride with 18.5 ppg, 3.8 boards and 3.5 dimes per game, while Tamera Young adds 10 ppg and 5.2 boards per game.

Atlanta Dream have a 22-11 record (22-11 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the first place of the East and second in the whole league. In their last game they saw a six-game winning streak getting snapped by losing on the road against the Phoenix Mercury with a 95-104 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Tiffany Hayes with 17.4 ppg, adding 3.5 boards per game. She is followed by Angel McCoughtry with 16.5 ppg and 6 boards per game, while Renee Montgomery adds 10.2 ppg and 3.5 dimes per game.

Atlanta have won both previous meetings against Las Vegas earlier this season (at home by 9 points and on the road by 4 points). Las Vegas are 8-8 at home this season, while Atlanta are 9-7 on the road. Las Vegas are better offensively, scoring 84.5 ppg to Atlanta’s 81.5, while Atlanta are better defensively, allowing a third-best of 79.6 ppg to Las Vegas’ second-worse of 86.8. Las Vegas have better percentages both in field goals (44.4% to 42.4%) and in 3-pointers (35.5% to 31.6%). They are also better in rebounding (36.7 to 35.8), in turnovers committed (12.9 to 13.6) and in assists made (20.2 to 18.1). Atlanta need this win on order to clinch the second place in the league and Vegas odds give them a -4.5 spread and expect them to beat the odds for the road victory.

Atlanta Dream vs Las Vegas Aces Prediction: Atlanta Dream -4.5 (-1112)
