In this battle between two top-3 squads of the Eastern Conference, the first Washington Mystics (12-7), who want to bounce back after their latest defeat, are hosting the third Atlanta Dream (9-9), who are looking to turn their latest victory into a streak.

Date/Time: 07-11-2017 11:30 EDT

Spread: Washington Mystics -8.5

Total: +162.5

Washington Mystics have a 12-7 record (10-8-1 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on top of the Eastern Conference. In their last game they saw a two-game winning streak getting snapped by losing on the road against the Seattle Storm with a 91-97 score. They are led in scoring by Elena Delle Donne with 20.5 ppg, adding a team high 6.7 boards per game. She is followed by Kristi Toliver with 14.5 ppg and 4.1 dimes per game, while Ariel Atkins adds 11.1 ppg.

Atlanta Dream have a 9-9 record (9-9 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the third place of the Eastern Conference. They have won two of their last three matches and in their last game they won at home against the Phoenix Mercury with a 76-70 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Tiffany Hayes with 17.5 ppg, adding 3.3 boards per game. She is followed by Angel McCoughtry with 16.9 ppg and 6.3 boards per game, while Brittney Sykes adds 9.9 ppg.

Last season Washington won all three meetings against Atlanta, winning both games at home by 6 and 4 points in overtime. Washington are 7-4 at home this season, while Atlanta are 4-6 on the road. Atlanta have the worse offense in the league with 75.7 ppg to Washington’s 84.5 but they have the third-best defense, allowing 79.3 ppg to Washington’s 81.5. Atlanta also have the worse percentages in the league both in field goals, shooting with 39.4% to Washington’s 44.8% and in 3-pointers, shooting with 28.2% to Washington’s 35’3%. Washington are also better in turnovers committed (13.2 to 14.5), while Atlanta are only better in rebounding, grabbing 35.7 to Washington’s 31.9 and both teams dish almost the same number of assists per game (16.6 to 16.5). Washington are superior to Atlanta this season and Vegas odds give them a -8.5 spread and expect them to beat the odds for an easy home victory.
