In this all-Eastern showdown, the first and fourth best squads of the conference are clashing, when the East leaders Washington Mystics (12-8), looking to end a small losing streak, are hosting the fourth-best Chicago Sky (7-13), who have won only once in their last five games and are looking to bounce back as well.

Date/Time: 07-13-2017 19:00 EDT

Spread: Washington Mystics -10

Total: +172.5

Washington Mystics have a 12-8 record (10-9-1 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the first place of the Eastern Conference. They have back-to-back losses and in their last game they lost at home against the Atlanta Dream with an 89-106 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Elena Delle Donne with 20.2 ppg, adding a team high 6.8 boards per game. She is followed by Kristi Toliver with 14.2 ppg and 4.1 dimes per game, while Ariel Atkins adds 10.8 ppg.

Chicago Sky have a 7-13 record (9-11 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the third to last place of the Eastern Conference. They have lost four of their last five matches and in their last game they lost at home against the Las Vegas Aces with a 74-98 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Allie Quigley with 16.4 ppg, followed by Diamond DeShields with 13.6 ppg and 4.9 boards per game. Courtney Vandersloot adds 10.7 ppg and a team high 7.6 dimes per game.

Washington have won both previous meetings against Chicago this season (at home by 28 points and on the road by 16). Washington are 7-5 at home this season, while Chicago are 2-7 on the road. Mystics are better offensively, scoring 84.7 ppg to Sky’s 80.9 and Sky have the worse defense in the league, allowing 88.2 ppg to Mystics’ 82.7. Mystics have a better field goal percentage, shooting with 44.6% to Sky’s 43.2%, while Sky have a better 3-point percentage, shooting with 36.9% to Mystics’ 35.8%. Mystics commit fewer turnovers per game (13.1 to 15.4), while Sky grab more boards per game (33.7 to 32) and dish more assists (20 to 16.6). Mystics are the favorite in this game and have already won easily twice against the Sky this season. Vegas odds give them a -10 spread and expect them to beat the odds for the home victory.
