In this all-Western showdown, the third and fifth best squads of the conference are clashing, when the Los Angeles Sparks (13-8), looking to turn their latest victory into a streak, are hosting the Dallas Wings (11-8), who want to extend a winning streak of their own.

Date/Time: 07-12-2017 15:30 EDT

Spread: Los Angeles Sparks -7.5

Total: +163.5

Los Angeles Sparks have a 13-8 record (11-10 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the third place of the West. In their last game they snapped a three-game losing streak by winning on the road against the Seattle Storm with a 77-75 score in overtime, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Candace Parker with 16.4 ppg, adding 6.8 boards and 4.4 dimes per game. She is followed by Nneka Ogwumike with 16.3 ppg and a team high 7.7 boards per game, while Chelsea Gray adds 14.9 ppg and a team high 5.2 dimes per game.

Dallas Wings have an 11-8 record (13-6 against the spread) so far this season and are sitting in the second to last place of the West. They have four consecutive wins and in their last game they won at home against the Phoenix Mercury with a 101-72 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Liz Cambage with 20.1 ppg, adding a team high 9.6 boards per game. She is followed by Skylar Diggins-Smith follows with 19.3 ppg, 3.7 boards and a team high 6.2 dimes per game, while Alisha Gray adds 9.4 ppg.

In their two previous meetings earlier this season each team has won at home (Dallas by 29 points and Los Angeles by 4). Sparks are 8-3 at home this season, while Wings are 4-5 on the road. Wings are better offensively, scoring 87 ppg (tied for league-best) to Sparks’ 78.6, while Sparks have the second-best defense in the league, allowing 76.7 ppg to Wings’ 81. Sparks have better percentages both in field goals (46.2% to 44.5%) and in 3-pointers (35.1% to 31.5%). They are also better in assists made (18.7 to 17.4) and in turnovers committed (12.9 to 15.1), while Wings are better in rebounding (36.6 to 30.1). Sparks are the favorite for the win but Vegas odds give them a -7.5 spread and don’t expect them to beat the odds as Wings will force a closer game than that.

Dallas Wings vs Los Angeles Sparks Prediction: Dallas Wings +7.5 (-112)
